What a Paa-rty!

When the Shahenshah sends out invitations, everyone comes, including the Badshah of Bollywood.
It was the premiere of the Amitabh-Abhishek-Vidya Balan starrer A B Corp and Reliance BIG Picture's Paa on Friday and the entire fraternity turned up at the suburban multiplex where the green carpet was laid out. Amitabh was the first to arrive at 6.30 pm though the show was to start at 8 pm. He came in a white kurta pyjama and only after he had inspected everything, did he change into a bandh gala. He stood at the entrance and greeted everyone. Here a hug, there a kiss, sometimes a pat on the back or a warm handshake. Jaya, Abhishek and Aishwarya reached post 8.30.

The Big B greeted Shah Rukh Khan who came with wife Gauri, son Aryan, daughter Suhana and his sister Shehnaz who was reluctant to pose for the shutterbugs but SRK coaxed her into it. Even Aryan was wary of the flashbulbs but SRK made him smile for the photographers too. Akshay Kumar and wife Twinkle came but without son Aarav. Aamir Khan, Raju Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra stayed glued to each other. Vidya Balan was seen with her parents while Imran Khan and Ranbir Kapoor were chatting away to glory.

Hrithik Roshan and wife Sussanne came and so did Sir Ben Kingsley. But the Hollywood star grabbed the media's attention only when Big B went up to him. Another rare appearance was of Sunny and Bobby Deol. The show that was to start at 8 began around 11 pm as stars were still walking in. But midway through the film, Ajay and Kajol and Aamir Khan sneaked out...

What a 'paa'rty!

When Amitabh Bachchan makes a personal call to invite you, is there any way you can decline? You can't and that's why this night couldn't have been bigger or better!

The premiere of AB Corp and Reliance BIG Picture's Paa saw B-Town biggies including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar in attendance. Hollywood's Ben Kingsley also graced the occasion. Of course, Big B's whole family — Jaya Bachchan, son and bahu Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, daughter and damaad Shweta and Rahul Nanda and brother Ajitabh Bachchan with daughter Namrata — was present. And how could the event be complete without his best friends Amar Singh and Anil and Tina Ambani!

Juhi Chawla, who was posing for the shutterbugs, stopped in between to greet Imran Khan and fiance Avantika Malik as they walked in. No wonder we've always loved this chirpy actress!

Aamir Khan told mediapersons that he was there for just half an hour as he had to rush to another event.
l If there was anyone missing in action, it was the top lady-brigade including Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone, but that's only because they weren't in town.

Also spotted were Abbas- Mustan, Apoorva Lakhia, Neela Devi, Riteish Deshmukh, Kirron Kher, Vipul and Shefali Shah, Resul Pookutty, Minissha Lamba, R Madhavan, Randhir and Rajeev Kapoor, Harman Baweja, Arshad Warsi and Maria Goretti.

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
