SRK’s planning to build stadium in debt-ridden Dubai

It was all a bad dream for the Dubaiers, when their debt report sent shock waves throughout the global markets.

But the Dubai economic slump doesn't seem to have deterred Shahrukh Khan's building ambitions. If rumors are to be believed, our very own Bollywood superstar will start building a stadium in the debt fraught country, very soon

And being an unofficial brand ambassador of the Dubai Tourism Development Company, Shahrukh Khan has now signed up with top Emirates developers to build a stadium as a part of the entertainment landscape in that country.

This interesting venture in Dubai land will comprise of approximately 45 projects that include theme parks, luxury hotels and stadiums. The land that has been zeroed-in is said to stretch over 278sqkm and the majority of it is held by a wing of Dubai Holding, a state-owned company.

Actor Shahrukh Khan is also investing on a $2.2-billion beachfront residential project at Ras Al Khaimah, which will be known as the Shahrukh Khan Boulevard. Though sources claim that the fate of the residential project hangs in the balance after the Dubai debacle, SRK is still moving full steam with the stadium.

It has also been revealed that actor Shahrukh is quite hugely popular in UAE, and investing in this immense project is his way of returning their love for him. His massive project includes, a contemporary sports training and coaching facility for the poor and underprivileged people in the Emirates.

The stadium is set to open up by 2013. Sources also conveyed that the actor is planning to host his Bollywood stage shows in this location.

They also added that Shahrukh Khan who often visits Emirates is all prepared to build a residential villa in Ras Al Khaimah on the same outline of his Mumbai home Mannat.
