Shahrukh's ‘Fauji’ sequel dream shatters

King Khan who was in process of making his first television serial Fauji's sequel is left disappointed after his whole planning and hard work has gone in vain.

Shahrukh started his career with this television serial Fauji, which in those days were telecasted on Doordarshan. And gradually, he gained popularity and new offers came his way which helped him reach at the stage where he is called King Khan now.

SRK wanted to make sequel to the serial and had even shot five episodes. But now, the whole project has become scarp.

The reason, he was not granted the permission for any further shooting at the military base. Secondly, recreating the sets for the soap was too expensive. So, the actor must have thought it's better to close down the project.

Taking the lessons from two flops of his home production (Red Chillies Idiot Box) 'Ghar Ki Baat' and 'Knight & Angels' on television, Shahrukh would have probably thought not to go ahead with Fauji's sequel.

But folks, what if the sequel might have turned great hit if it was made? Well Shahrukh, there goes a saying 'No gain without pain".

"It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
