Countless fans lined the red carpet Wednesday night, for the premiere of Bollywood actor Shahrukh (King) Khan's latest flick at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.
"Oh my god, I told him how much I love him, and then he touched my face! And I kissed his hand! Ahhhhh!" screamed super-fan Amal.
"It doesn't feel real at all…Oh my god, oh my god," said Kadija through her tears.
The 46-year-old Khan is in Toronto to showcase his new movie, Ra.One in 3D.
"It's a different kind of film, we've not done these kind of films in India. I hope people comprehend and kind of appreciate the newness of it all, that it's not like a regular movie…I'm glad that I'm able to put that out because otherwise all the time we are complaining Bollywood films are similar, love stories so it's trying to make a difference. I hope it sticks," said Khan.
Earlier in the day, Khan, otherwise known as the Bollywood Brad Pitt, was once again mobbed by fans when he arrived arrived at Toronto's Pearson airport to the deafening shrieks of his fans.
"I was here last time for IIFA [International Indian Film Academy] and there's so many people in Toronto who like our films, who like me. It's nice to be in Toronto," Khan said from between bodyguards.
Khan waded through the throng of fans, singing autographs and posing for photos.
"I couldn't sleep all night. I was so excited," fan Mariana Siddiqi told CityNews at Pearson.
What's so amazing about him, we asked her.
"What's not amazing about him? He's awesome in every way," she replied.
"I made a poster for Shahrukh," her friend Natasha Kassam said.
"It reads 'Can I Be Your Chamak Challo?' It's a famous line from Ra.One. I've loved Shahrukh Khan ever since I was young. I would do anything for him. It's really exciting."
"He's just so charming. I just want to hug him."
Not to be outdone, Siddiqi then pulled out a T-shirt that read "SRK MARRY ME."
