Enter SRK, cue for fan frenzy, screaming girls…

The fan frenzy surrounding the Shah Rukh Khan event saw a crazed crowd at the world premiere of 'Ra.One' in Dubai last night.

As the wait wore on, the throngs finally swelled to hundreds as enthusiastic fans nudged out those who braved the long wait - we are talking hours here - to manage a few glances of their favourite star.

But he wasn't alone. Along came Kareena Kapoor, who shimmered in a pink sari, accompanied by designer Manish Malhotra. No prizes for guess who designed her ensemble.

Arjun Rampal looked dapper in a black suit, while Shahana Goswami hung on the arm of beau Milind Soman.

But largely due to delays and the security hazard, the celebs were ushered down the red carpet and into the screens via a backdoor that led via the toilets.

Needless to say, it was Khan's night and the fever pitch reached its climax when the superstar exited the Rolls Royce and strutted down the red carpet to hundreds chanting his name.

Earlier in the evening, the actor had talked about his love for Dubai saying: "It's amazing to come here every time seeing the fan following for Indian cinema that goes beyond your Asian audience.

"It's a global stage and my film 'Ra.One' will appeal to this global audience. That's my aim."

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
