SRK, Kareena shake a leg for Medvedev

The relationship that began with Raj Kapoor's 'Roosi topi' still continues strong as ever, as was evident when Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor shook a leg for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev who visited the set of the film 'Ra.One' at Yash Raj Studio on Wednesday evening.

Although SRK and Kareena wanted to record the song for the president to show how Indians shoot their film, security reasons prevented them from doing so. The actor told reporters "I wanted to show him the whole song but unfortunately could not do so due to security reasons."

The actor also said that he would love to shoot in Russia if something materializes. Khan said, "There is a need to revive the old ties between the two countries."

President Medvedev who had a half-hour meeting with the top film personalities couldn't help but praise Indian cinema.

He said that there was a channel in Russia that shows only Indian movies 24x7 and Indian cinema has become very international. He also said that he would want people from Russia to come to India to learn filmmaking.

Earlier, in an interaction with IIT-B students, Medvedev requested them to ask less complicated questions. He was cornered when they asked him the lengths that Russia would go to, for supporting India if she took a dire step against a neighbour.

"India and Russia have a special relationship; it is not a figure of speech, but a matter of fact," he said.

He also reiterated his support for India's bid for a permanent seat in the UNSC.

For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
