The King Khan plays a superhero in Anubhav Sinha's next RA.One and it seems like the role is rubbing off on him in real life too.
Shah Rukh Khan is multi-tasking off the screen and apart from playing the lead role in the film, he has also written a part of the screenplay.
For evidence of this literary spark, look closely at the closing credits of the film where he will be credited for writing the screenplay along with Hollywood writer David Benullo.
An industry insider said, "Since RA.One is not a run-of-the-mill film, it requires unique treatment. It has loads of special effects, which is why Shah Rukh wanted Benullo to work on the script, along with Kanika Dhillon, to make sure it stands out from the usual commercial Hindi films."
Benullo has Around the World in 80 Days, Hallowed Ground, Cupid and Shadow Man which won the International Fantasy Film Award in 2006 to his credit.
"While sitting for screenplays with Benullo and Dhillon, Shah Rukh too gave his inputs for the film," says the source "and ended up penning a few pages of the screenplay.
Benullo and Dhillon were both impressed at SRK's talent as a writer and decided to retain the scenes. It is just a part of the entire screenplay, but very beautifully done."
Shah Rukh was unavailable for comment and Kanika Dhillon did not revert to our messages.
