Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment has produced a musical drama for children 'Ishaan-Sapno Ko Awaaz de' for Disney Channel.

The 21-episode-long weekend show, a musical and inspirational journey of a young boy featuring 11 original sound tracks, would premier on May 15.

Natasha Malhotra, Vice President and General Manager, Walt Disney Television International India said the new series is part of the channel's commitment to provide relevant stories for kids.

"We are committed to creating local content to further the connection it has with kids and families," she said.

Speaking about the show, Shah Rukh said, "I have always enjoyed watching Disney Channel with my kids and I am happy that my company is producing a show that will be part of the Disney family."

He said 'Ishaan' is the inspiring musical journey of a boy who finds friends and a sense of belonging through music.

Extremely intelligent and talented, Ishaan finds his true calling and his friends through music when he joins a school band 'Yaari'.

Ishaan's story showcases the triumph of friendship and passion over ambition. His band mates become his source of strength and help him realise that music and Yaari is where he truly belongs.

The star cast includes new comers Tapasvi Mehta, Anisa Butt, Nakul Sahdev, Farhina Parvez, Kishen Savjani, Ayaz Ahmad and Shruti Ulfat, Rajinder Mehra and Rajiv Paul.

The music directors are Dhruv Ghanekar (of Drona fame) and R Anandh. 'Ishaan' has been written by Jaydeep Sarkar and is being directed by Iqbal Rizvi.

For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
