Karan gets Muslim Public Affairs Council Award

With 'Candy Floss Romance' as his middle name, expectations reached its ultimate crescendo when Karan Johar announced his next film with Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, the ever-so-bankable pair, who, along with Karan Johar have been instrumental in delivering some of the massive hits that Bollywood has ever seen. At such a time, KJo shocked everyone by making the never-before attempted genre in My Name Is Khan, a film that garnered mixed reviews post its release. While some of the critics panned the film, there were others who felt that KJo did full justice to the subject.

Now that the film is released and has made all its associates happy with its commercial success globally, it's time for the awards. And to start with, KJo received his first award for MNIK in the form of Muslim Public Affairs Council Award (MPACC) in Los Angeles. Talking about the award, KJo said that the award was truly a matter of great pride not only because it was MNIK's first award, but also because it has come from such a special organization.

KJo has yet another reason to rejoice as MNIK will be screened at prestigious art house The Angelika Film Center in New York. Way to go, KJo and MNIK.

"Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
