Knight Riders not for sale: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday dismissed reports that the beleaguered Indian Premier League franchise is up for sale.

Khan said he had made a lot of emotional investment in building the side and was not selling it.

"The amount of love I have invested in it, nobody in this world can afford to buy it," Shah Rukh said after casting his vote.

News reports earlier claimed the actor wanted to wash his hands off the Knight Riders, who have been struggling in the second IPL in South Africa.

According to reports, Khan was in touch with Nokia, Sahara and the Anil Ambani Group to sell the side he had bought last year for Rs 300 crore.

Knight Riders have been plagued by a slew of controversies which went on to affect their performance on the field as the side managed just one win so far in the second IPL.

Coach John Buchanan's multiple-captain theory, stripping Sourav Ganguly of captaincy and handing it over to Brendon McCullum, sending Aakash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar back home midway through the tournament and reports of a possible players' revolt against the coach - all affected the side's morale.

McCullum himself is going through a bad patch and has decided to step down if the side fails to reach the semifinals. Khan was with the team in South Africa before returning home to cast his vote and he plans not to rejoin the team unless it starts winning again.

"If my team continues to lose like this, I am not going back to South Africa. I will go only when they play well and win," Shah Rukh had said.

  1. Bollywood ke badshah ki aisi halat humne pehle kabhi nahi drkhi. buchnain ne apko badshah se bachcha bana diya. apne pure khandan ko usne kkr me jod diya. abhi bhi waqt hai sambhal jaiye buchnain ko uske ghar ka rata dikhaye. kisi indian legend player ko coach banaye. kisi yuva player ko captain banaye. mcculam ko sirf player rehne de. aur apni team ka dress code zaroor change kare.

  5. Dear S.R.K,
i am a big fan of yours and your Dream team KKR . I am happy with your view of not selling KKR despite of the hurdles it is facing.I hope that KKR will bounce back. I appreciate you for not lacking faith in the team.Players like Gayle is has become very much emotional in winning a match not only for the team but also for u.He is greatlt pleased with the support and faith you have put in them and he wants to repay it by winning a match.
Sir, i have something to suggest for u ,but it is not necessary that u should follow this because i respect your every decision you take.My opinion is don't let Buchanan take every decision about team and management.I think what Gavaskar ji commemted about him was true .He is on the verge of becoming KKR's "CHAPPEL" .

    Thanking you Sir,

    Raziq hussain
    (very passionate fan of KKR).

  6. Hey Shahrukh,
You are a man of great passion but this time about KKR u r going all wrong.
Look Pallavi Joshi also says it...make DADA the captain.
Your KKR seems like a bunch of individuals forced to play.
KKR doesn't looks like a team. To win the unit has to perform like a team and have to have fire within.
You being a man of passion just realize and recognise the man with most passion...Its none other than Dada!!!!

Go talk to him, light the fire within him and give him the power...I assure he will do it in rest of the matches.
You are keeping a born tiger in cage.Be it what ever situation, against all odds he always rose up..stood up from the ashes and showed the world that he is a fighter a tiger.
Don't waste anymore time and give him the command.
And two more things to do..1) Throw out Buchanan. 2).Put Macculam on bench.

If you want any good for KKR just follow these....
    The rest will follow...
    Best Of Luck.....
    Regards,
    Dada ka bhai....Bhaskar

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
