Knight Riders not for sale: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan on Thursday dismissed reports that the beleaguered Indian Premier League franchise is up for sale. Khan said he had made a lot of emotional investment in building the side and was not selling it. "The amount of love I have invested in it, nobody in this world can afford to buy it," Shah Rukh said after casting his vote. News reports earlier claimed the actor wanted to wash his hands off the Knight Riders, who have been struggling in the second IPL in South Africa. According to reports, Khan was in touch with Nokia, Sahara and the Anil Ambani Group to sell the side he had bought last year for Rs 300 crore. Knight Riders have been plagued by a slew of controversies which went on to affect their performance on the field as the side managed just one win so far in the second IPL. Coach John Buchanan's multiple-captain theory, stripping Sourav Ganguly of captaincy and handing it over to Brendon McCullum , sendi...

EXCLUSIVE: Shah Rukh Khan's Blog For All KKR Fans

Archived Topic The beginning of a new day! When the season started, I thought I would write every couple of days to all our fans that visit our site. Firstly, thanks for doing so and a special thanks to all who believe in the Knight Riders and support us as a team. Apologies for not being a regular at my blog or actually not even writing the first entry with the start of the season. So here is the first one. I thought I would start the first write up by detailing the threshold and culture of this franchise. That would have been apt if we hadn't started playing. Right now, as I write at 5 a.m. in Cape Town, having lost yet another game, which we could have won, the heart is heavy and the mind is numb. Full marks to Rajasthan Royals for proving that a true champion team does not choke at the finish line. Congratula tions guys. Since the commenceme nt of this season, we have a trail of one win out of three, which is not a good position to be in. So at this t...

Is SRK in need of CHAK DE magic?

He may have lead his team from defeat to victory in his hit film Chak De, but it seems in real life the Chak De magic isn't working for SRK. After his return from South Africa, an upset SRK made clear he won't cheer for the team till they post a victory in the on-going IPL tournament. SRK's Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was touted as the team to watch out for. But, sadly, KKR is on a losing spree much to the chagrin of King Khan. Now, with the morale of the team at an all time low, we hope the Kabir Khan in SRK finally takes over and to save his team from being completely whitewashed. Source: Glamsham

Will Shah Rukh Khan dump KKR?

Mumbai, April 30, 2009: Will Shah Rukh Khan dump Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)? The question is being asked after an emotionally dejected Shah Rukh Khan returned from South Africa and said that he wouldn't return till his team starts winning the match. His team has been among the worst performers in the ongoing Indian Premier League so far. It has won only one match and has lost four matches one after the other. The team that was being seen as among the most balanced teams till a few weeks ago is now seen as the weakest among the IPL teams with no batsman or bowler producing match winning performances. Brendon McCullum, the wily batsman who was made the captain of the side this year after Sourav Ganhuly was removed has also failed to come up with a scintillating performance like last year. He has either gone for a duck or has scored one or two runs in every match. McCullum believes that a defeat like the one that Kolkata Knight Riders suffered at the hands of Rajasthan Royals in t...

My Name Is Khan’s Plot | Shah Rukh Khan’s character in My Name Is Khan

That Shah Rukh Khan's character in My Name Is Khan suffers from Asperger's Syndrome is known. But what is unknown is that his screen persona Rizvan Khan holds on to black stones in many scenes in Karan Johar's film. It is learnt that this is part of the actor's styling. Says a source, "Along with a distinct look, the director has given SRK's character a sort of a security blanket he holds tightly in his palm." Adds the source, "Karan has added the stones as part of the styling. It's obvious that having black stones in his hands is this desire to clutch on to somethingand not let go. It is sacred to him." Apparently the character's reactions are shown in the manner he clutches on to the stones in any given situation his fist reflects his emotional state of mind. KJo has stated in his blog ( mynameiskaran.com ) before the film went on the floors, "Rizvan Khan, the protagonist in the film, suffers from Asperger's Syndrome ...

Is SRK ditching Kolkata Knight Riders?

Shah Rukh Khan is depressed, unhappy and extremely dissatisfied with the performance of his team Kolkata Knight Riders. After returning to India, he confessed that his team's defeat has bogged him down a lot. Sending a very strong message to his team he said he will not return to South Africa unless the team performs better in forthcoming matches and learns from its mistakes. He said, "If my team continues to lose like this, I am not going back to South Africa. I will go only when they play well and win." Even at this critical time, when his team has been receiving one loss after another, Shah Rukh doesn't forget to praise the team's formation. He said, "It's not that KKR is not a good team. It's a very good team. We have a lot of good players. There is immense talent in the team. But unfortunately we didn't play well. Keep the Faith

You must have heard a thousand times that the way to victory does not lie in how hard you can hit; but how hard you can take the hit. And I am not telling you anything new. Every teacher says that to his student, every coach says that to his team and I am sure John has said this to you guys enough times already, just as a father says that to his son. When they all say this, in their hearts they also wish and hope that their team does not get hit; it doesn't have to learn to win that way. A father feels, let my son win without ever getting hit; but you still say this to them because you know this world is a hard place. Games are a hard battlefiel d…your opponent wants to win as much as you do…so there is always going to be a chance that you will get hit. The best of us get hit…Mohammad Ali got hit…Carl Lewis got hit…John Buchanan must have been hit…Sourav Ganguly here has been hit several times. So lets start from the fact that yes we have been hit already. So this is a good thing....

LOKENDRA PRATAP SAHI Shah Rukh Durban: Shah Rukh Khan didn't read the riot act during his 20-minute interaction with the Kolkata Knight Riders, in Port Elizabeth, after the massive 92-run defeat at the hands of the Mumbai Indians on Monday evening. Instead, the franchise's principal owner asked the Brendon McCullums to relax and "enjoy" their cricket before looking for wins in the ongoing edition of the IPL. They've only had one (from five matches) in the tournament and shared points with the Chennai Super Kings after a wash-out in Cape Town. "You're like my children and I can't scold my children... First, try to relax and enjoy your cricket before worrying about winning... Once the enjoyment is there, the results will improve," Shah Rukh is understood to have told his Knights at the St George's Park dressing room. According to a well-placed so...

SRK gets boxing ring custom-made for his son Aryan

There is now a boxing ring at Shah Rukh Khan's home, Mannat. No, he isn't practising boxing for a film or preparing for a match with arch rival Aamir Khan. King Khan, who is into all kinds of sports activities, had a boxing ring especially constructed for his 12-year-old son, Aryan. The boxing ring at the Khan abode has been made by the 144-year-old sports shop Wagle & Co at Dhobi Talao near Metro cinema. Owner Manohar Wagle says, "We have constructed a children's boxing ring on the play floor in Mannat. It was challenging because we have never done something like this for an individual before. We are used to constructing for schools and clubs. The space was smaller. We had to reduce the dimensions and the height of the ring at Mannat but I think we did a good job." Wagle says that Shah Rukh's people contacted him and they had specific instructions of their requirement, "Actually Aryan wanted a WWF wrestling ring where the ropes are more fle...
