The stars will descend at the prestigious Chevrolet Apsara Producers' Guild Awards to be held on 8th January, 2010 at Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri. The Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards is the Guild's endeavor to honor excellence in cinema and television by the stalwarts of the industry itself.
Over the years, Apsara Awards has acknowledged talent, perseverance, innovation and pure artistry. The night will see over 30 awards being presented in categories of films and television.
Apsara Producers' Guild Awards 2009 will have scintillating performances by Shahrukh Khan who will be performing on stage at an awards ceremony after 2 years! Saif Ali Khan and the ravishing Kareena Kapoor will add glamour to the night with their performance. Catch the special performance by Vidya Balan & Arshad Warsi as they present an exclusive number from the upcoming ISHQIYA. Vivek Oberoi will set the stage on fire with his rocking performance that includes some heart stopping stunts.
The Television industry is represented in the Best Non-Fiction Series, Best Drama Series (Fiction), Best Director - Fiction, Best Actress and Best Actor in a Drama Series. The 3 special awards will honour the Best Debutante (Male and Female) for the year 2009 and the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Film Awards are divided into the Technical and Popular categories.

2009 has proven to be a interesting year for the Indian Film Industry and the Film nominations prove just that, with over 24 films being nominated in various categories, with films like LOVE AAJ KAL, KAMINEY, WAKE UP SID, RAB NE BANA DI JODI and GHAJINI, among others dominating the nomination categories.
The award winners have been chosen by the Guild's members through a secret ballot. The Guild Jury members (Film) include stalwarts of the Indian film industry like Ravi Chopra, Ashok Thakeria, John Mathew Mathan, Ketan Desai, Ketan Mehta, Uday Singh, Vinod Pande, Praveen Nischol, Govind Nihalani, Jahnu Barua, Kallpana G. Lajmi, Prem Sagar, Suneel Darshan, Umesh Mehra and Sajid Nadiadwala, who along with the auditors are a part of the selection process. The Guild Jury for the Television awards are Manish Goswami, Anuj Saxena, Sheel Kumar, Jyoti Sagar, Vinta Nanda, Dheeraj Kumar, Sandeep Bhargava and Dr. Akash Khurana.

hey shahrukh i want to congratualate u frm d bottom of my heart for accomplishing such a huge project like my name is khan so well. wen i heard abt d fuss that shiv sena, was making over d movie i actually thanked god bcoz i knew that this tharki thakre has now messed wid king khan and now, from this moment he's finished. p'ple will see his real face and he'll be doomed. and eventually that only took place though he's bragging abt his abstract success! as far as the movie is concerned, words fail to describe it. after all king khan isn't called king khan just like dat, isn't it? ;)
