After seeing most Bollywood stars being active on Twitter last year, Shah Rukh Khan has finally decided to follow in their footsteps. The actor started tweeting from his account 'iamsrk' on January 3. He said though he's normally a shy person, his friend Karan Johar insisted that he learn to share his life.
The actor managed to get around 20,000 followers in just 24 hours, a feat that took moths for others like Abhishek Bachchan and Shahid Kapoor to achieve. Khan too was overwhelmed by the initial reaction. "Didn't expect such a warm welcome," he tweeted. Khan has still not learnt the ropes on the social networking site, but thousands of his fans are trying to help him get familiar with Twitter.
The social networking site that allows people to post 140 characters at a time has become a popular means for film stars to promote their films. Khan has a big release on anvil. His film My Name is Khan would hit the screens next month. In fact, the actor had said on his birthday last year that he had no plans to join any networking site or to start blogging like others in the industry. It looks like marketing the film got the better of him.
