Yes, it's another feather on SRK's hat. The star has become the first Bollywood actor on whom a comic book is based.
Shah Rukh has always been a favourite with advertisers and now the brands are finding newer ways of making the best out of SRK's popularity. A toothpaste brand that King Khan endorses and which is targeted at children has come out with a comic book starring SRK, thereby immortalizing him.
The ad Pappu & Papa has SRK playing a doting dad trying to explain to his kid the importance of brushing teeth. Sources from Unilever that owns the toothpaste brand Pepsodent have it that after the ad gained popularity, the brand decided to come out with a comic book by the same name Pappu & Papa.
A source from the marketing team at Unilever said, "The ads are targeted towards parents and more so towards kids. Being equally popular with both the groups, Shah Rukh was the best option. The ad has been receiving great feedback ever since it went on air and the comic book idea is an extension of the brand's promotional plan.
"Fortunately, even in this day and age of PSPs and computer games, comic books are still hit with kids and therefore the content from the ad has been used in the comic format to attract the little consumers' attention."
Will we have Ra.One comic books following next? Only time will tell...
