SRK, Akki to produce a film

Shah Rukh Khan's inconspicuous yet repeated attempts to strengthen his bond with Akshay Kumar have borne fruit.

To go a little back in time, when Akshay was shooting a song for his film Blue, Shah Rukh, who was also shooting in the same vicinity, paid a surprise visit to him. After that, it was reported that Shah Rukh requested producer Sajid Nadiadwala to arrange for a screening of the Akshay starrer Housefull at his residence, Mannat.

Four months ago, Shah Rukh again paid a visit to Akshay's set. This time, Akshay was shooting for Nikhil Advani's Patiala House. The two then spent nearly an hour together in Akshay's vanity van.

Later, we reported that the duo met on a flight to London. And when Khatta Meetha released, Shah Rukh's office requested the producers Ashtavinayak for a print, which he wanted to watch at his preview theatre in his bungalow.

After all this, the latest development on this growing camaraderie is that on Friday, Shah Rukh again decided on a tête-à-tête with Akshay. Khan visited the sets of the forthcoming TV reality show Master Chef India and met Akshay Kumar who stars in the show. The meeting happened in Yash Raj Studios, Andheri.

This time, the two actors were apparently glued to each other. The warmth between them was very apparent. Shah Rukh hung around for nearly the entire day with Akshay.

Says a source, "Shah Rukh not only took a keen interest in the show Master Chef India but also told Akshay something very surprising."

Apparently, Shah Rukh told Akshay that he was feeling very positive about Farah Khan's next film Tees Maar Khan, which stars Akshay. What followed this line was another one from Khan on how Farah would naturally always make a good film.

This was a shocker, considering Shah Rukh was once terribly upset with Farah for choosing Akshay over him in Tees Maar Khan. Moreover, it cannot be forgotten that as of now, Farah and Shah Rukh are not on the best of terms.

Is Shah Rukh extending an olive branch to Farah via Akshay? Adds the source, "Akshay and Shah Rukh also spoke about producing a film together. No prizes for guessing that they both will star in that film as well."

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
