After much speculation over who will star as the anti-hero in Dhoom 3, rumor is that the Yash Raj Camp has finally zeroed in on Shah Rukh Khan. In the past, the likes of John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan have played the part of the villain in the previous two installments making this role, one of the most "coveted" roles in modern day Hindi cinema. Yash Raj, who is currently going through a dip in their films, are said to be going through a low phase, "Yash Raj Films have been going through a lull period as none of their on-the-floor movies or their completed ones are generating any curiosity from the buyers as well as the audiences. SRK has always been a quick-fix solution for the Chopra," claimed a source close to the camp to a leading publication.
According to sources, SRK has always been a "quick fix" to the Yash Raj camp. The last time the Chopra's needed Khan, he came out with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. SRK was supposedly "approached" by the banner only last week and heard a "one-lined narration." The actor was floored and he agreed to be a part of the film.
The dates are unknown and neither is the director too since Sanjay Gadhvi, director of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, has had a "fallout" with the Chopra's. Additionally, Khan is currently working on Karan Johar's My Name is Khan, followed by Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 and his home production Happy New Year to be directed by Farah Khan. SRK is supposedly unsure as to when he would fit Dhoom 3 into his already busy schedule.
