Dulha Mil Gaya completes shooting, aims for September 18 release

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Susmita Sen and Fardeen Khan, Dulha Mil Gaya is complete. It is already in the post-production stage and the final schedule, comprising a qawwali sequence, is being shot at Mumbai's Mehboob Studios. The schedule was pending since a few months since Shah Rukh Khan's shoulder injury prevented him for indulging in heavy-duty dance numbers.

Speaking about the song, director Mudassar Aziz said, "The song has been sung by Amit Kumar and Monali Thakur. It has often been addressed as my tribute to Farah Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen. Though I cannot reveal much about the song or Shah Rukh's look for the same, it's a fiery number to watch out for." Talking about the film's progress, producer Viveck Vaswani said, "In any case we had already begun work on post -production in parallel so there hasn't been waste of time, resource or energy. The film's dubbing too is 50 per cent complete. Sushmita should be dubbing soon, though for Fardeen, I will hold on for a while till he starts feeling a little more composed after his father's demise. As for Shah Rukh, he is scheduled to dub for the movie this week."

When asked about the film's release date, Aziz said, "All producers have been thrown off-gear by the strike. I am not in a position to tell a confirmed release date since Shah Rukh Khan, Ahmed Khan and I want to make sure that the strike is primarily over before we plan the release." He added that if September 18 works out as a feasible date taking the above-mentioned factor into consideration, they will go ahead with it. Vaswani confirmed the date for the film's release which would translate into a four-day extended weekend as Eid falls on September 21, a Monday. Elaborating on the date, he offered, "Let me state on record that September 18 is the day when my film arrives. I can assure that it's going to be one big festival movie. Dulha Mil Gaya is about celebration and the release timelines for the movie should further aid its prospects."

As for the film's promotional campaign, Aziz maintains that though it will be a big campaign, they will avoid an in-your-face situation. Further, the focus will be on the fresh cast since Sushmita and Shah Rukh have worked together just once before while both of them have never been paired with Fardeen.

Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
