SRK's My Name is Khan screened in Rome

Shah Rukh Khan had a busy week before kicking off his birthday on November 2. He has been on the move since October 27 when he first returned to India, via London, to host Sahara Sports Awards in Mumbai on October 30, and then flew to Rome with his family to attend the 5th Rome Film Festival on October 31.

The actor walked the Red Carpet to a grand Bollywood-themed reception at the Festival for the screening of his film My Name Is Khan, which released with 100 prints.

The only bad news Shah Rukh received in the last week was Karan Johar's absence as he is suffering from malaria, Khan tweeted.

Meanwhile in Rome, Shah Rukh did not have to go through the regular customs route and was instead granted a VIP exit. The film released in Italy with around 100 prints. My Name Is Khan will also create history when it releases in China on November 30 as it is the first Hindi film to release there in 20 years.

"It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
