Aditya Chopra to direct Dhoom 3

It's official now. Yash Raj Films scion Aditya Chopra will hold the directorial reins of the much talked about and eagerly anticipated Dhoom 3.

After the super success of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, there was much speculation about who will play the lead negative role in the film and who will direct the film, especially because Sanjay Gadhvi, who had directed the first two instalments of the blockbuster, quit YRF.

Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra

It was a three-film deal with Gadhvi that was never renewed for reasons unknown to us. But Adi, in the meanwhile, is preening himself for this profitable hat-trick.

Our source said, "Dhoom 3 has been in the news for the longest period. While there have been all kinds of speculations about who will direct the film, one thing was always clear that Vijay Krishna Acharya (of Tashan), better known as Victor Acharya, is writing the script.

Aditya Chopra has now decided that he will don the director's cap. While Shah Rukh Khan in all probability will be playing the role of a villain, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra will play their regular roles. The leading ladies are yet to be finalised. The film will go on the floors in March and SRK has already allotted the dates for this film.

An official announcement will be made in January by YRF Films." Another source said, "It is still unclear whether SRK will do Dhoom 3 as he has also been approached for Yash Chopra's directorial venture." When contacted about these details, the official spokesperson of YRF Films said, "It's untrue."

Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
