Shah Rukh’s mega budget ‘Ra.One’ release pushed to Diwali 2011

Shah Rukh Khan's fans, who have been keenly looking forward to the actor's forthcoming release 'Ra.One', will have to wait a lot longer.

The actor who has been working hard to finish his mega budget film has now decided to push back the release date from June to November 2011. As of now the action flick will release near Diwali next year and it's all owing to the SFX effects that are yet to be completed.

Confirming the news a source told a daily, "`Ra.One' is Shah Rukh's most ambitious film till date. He is leaving no stone unturned for the production values of the film. Already there are strong rumours that Rajni's 'Robot' is similar to 'Ra.One'; it is a known fact that SRK was the one who was scheduled to star in 'Robot' before he had differences with Shanker and Shanker went on to make the film with Rajnikanth".

However, sources now confirm that both the films have a lot of similarities. What's a bigger tension for SRK is that 'Robot' has already gone to be a huge hit and the SFX of the film are being talked about. Keeping all this in mind, King Khan now wants the film to be nothing less than the best.

"SRK himself had tweeted that the film will release on June 3 sometime ago but he now knows that it is not going to be possible. The SFX will take time. The next deadline has been set for October end, which will be during Diwali. The film also stars SRK and Kareena, both sharing screen time with one another after a long gap," adds the source.

For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
