Sequel to Shahrukh Khan's BAAZIGAR dropped

A few months back there were strong whispers in the industry circles that a sequel of Shahrukh Khan's BAAZIGAR would be going on-floors soon. Since the character played by Shahrukh had died in the first installment, many had wondered how the actor would return in the sequel, considering the fact that producer Ratan Jain was sure about making the film only with the actor.

As has happened though, the idea for making the sequel has been dropped. This comes short on the heels of another film, remake of Amitabh Bachchan's KAALIA, being shelved.

Says a source close to Jain, "He has worked with Shahrukh in MAIN HOON NAA as well and their relationship goes back a long way. They would make a film together but BAAZIGAR sequel is definitely not happening anywhere in near future. In fact he has signed a couple of other directors as well as actors. One of the first films that would go on floors is KHILADI 2 with Abbas-Mustan. Then there is another film too which is locked and just waiting to be announced."

While he is currently occupied with the release of GANG OF GHOSTS which releases this weekend, Jain isn't reading too much between putting BAAZIGAR 2 on hold indefinitely.

"After the release of GANG OF GHOSTS I would be making some announcements. There are a couple of films all set to start. As for BAAZIGAR 2, it is not happening," says Jain.

Before parting, he throws a hint of a major development in the making, what with Shahrukh eventually coming on board for another film of his.

"Yes, there is a film being planned with Shahrukh. However, until there is everything in paper and signatures have been put above the dotted line, it won't be fair for me to share anything more," he says.

We are waiting for that to happen. As for BAAZIGAR 2 being put on hold, it is going to break many hearts out there who were hoping to know what happened indeed after the killing of Madan Chopra!

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec
