Juhi Chawla's Brother Bobby Chawla Passes Away

After four years in a coma, Juhi Chawla's brother Bobby Chawla died early today (9 March 2014). Bobby went into a coma in 2010, after suffering a massive stroke while having dinner at a restaurant in Mumbai.

Juhi tweeted a few hours after his death, "This is the perfect screenplay ...look at how my brother timed it ... He gave me the biggest gift of my lifetime ...saw its release ... And went away."

Bollywood was quick to offer its support to Juhi after the news of Bobby's death spread and Shah Rukh Khan, with whom Bobby worked closely as CEO of his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, was among the first to react on Twitter.

Shah Rukh Khan: When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. May Allah bless my friend's soul."

Madhuri Dixit:
Condolences to Juhi Chawla for her loss.

Riteish Deshmukh: RIP Bobby Chawla - a true gentleman - always wore a smile on his face and had warmth when he greeted you. Condolences to the entire family

Farah Khan: Bobby Chawla, u leave us for a better place..

Vishal Dadlani: Sad day. Our friend, Bobby Chawla, EP of Om Shanti Om & Ra.One , & Juhi Chawla's brother, has passed away. I wish the family strength.

Juhi, who's currently earning rave reviews for her turn as an evil politician in Gulaab Gang, had long been distressed about her brother's condition. Back in 2011, she'd opened about her sorrow, saying, "I have come to the Ambani hospital after four months to meet a doctor... But I just have not the nerve to go see my brother. My brother is still up here in the ICU ... I'm sitting in the prayer room downstairs. I'd cried and cried... Several times here, begging for my brother to be revived, but he's still here, in a sad state and I'm so scared to see him, I don't go."

"I see the pictures of all these Gods on the wall here, for months I cried and lit lamps and begged and pleaded...ran pillar to post...Whyyyyy no mercy???? If not for me... For my brother...my brother is a sweetheart... Honest to a fault ..selfless ...loyal ...fun loving," she further posted on Twitter.

"A friends friend ...I cannot say enough good things about him .... Whhhyyy him ??!!!! And if God wants why doesn't he take him away ... Why leave him hanging between life and death ... Unfair life !!!!!!!"

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
