SRK, Sallu, Big B get together to support CINTAA

Cine and Television Artists Association (CINTAA)are out on a role to raise funds and use the money to make a building name CINTAA Towers. This is the only artiste body in the world that doesn't have a proper unit to manage its activities given the fact that actors here pay the maximum tax and the film industry churns out more than 300 films every year.

Speaking about the venture, Mithun Chakroborty Chairman of Cine Artistes Welfare Trust said, "The tower will have all the amenities. It will have an entertainment section, cafeteria, library, preview theater and many more facilities for the artists. It did take a lot of time but now hopefully we will complete the project very soon."

To achieve this task, CINTAA has tied up with Star Plus to create the biggest ever entertainment extravaganza in India. The show is called STAR CINTAA Superstars Ka Jalwa. We often hear that the people of the film industry are not united however this time 52 actors have come together and have done stage performances without charging a penny.

The biggest names like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and many more have given stage performances for the show.

Salman Khan, who has also done an act for the show said, "We have managed to raise Rs 5 crore and it was great that the entire film industry came together and help CINTAA to fulfill their dream."

STAR CINTAA Superstars Ka Jalwa will have six episodes and the first episode will be aired on March 21 at 9pm. The show will also mark the golden anniversary of CINTAA.

"It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
