It’s wonderful to be back home: SRK

King Khan didn't run with Delhi, but his presence nonetheless sure made it up. In the city for the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon early morning
Shah Rukh Khan

yesterday, he said, "It's wonderful to be back home and be part of the Delhi half marathon. I wish I could have run, but unfortunately, I couldn't due to my injury.

Inshallah, agli baar zaroor main daudunga. It's great to see Delhi people in full force early in the morning, all ready for the run. Hats off to the Dilliwallah for making this event a memorable one. This is also important for children, sports are the best that we can give them."

When a mediaperson asked him, "Salman Khan ne ek interview mein aapki taarif ki hai, aap kya kahenge;" Shah Rukh replied, "Please aap aise sawaal mujhse na poocha karein, main sharminda ho jaata hoon." SRK seemed to be in good humour despite the early hour. On being asked how he was going to encourage players for the Commonwealth Games, he said, "I'll get eight packs now, I already have six!"

Talking about plans for his birthday, which is today, SRK said he'd be back in Mumbai with his family. "And thanks for all the good wishes. It was a joy to see so many kids and adults wishing me in advance for my birthday." Gauri and Karan Johar are expected to host a surprise party for the actor with regulars like Juhi and Jai Mehta, Hrithik and Sussanne, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Arjun and Mehr Rampal, Kareena and Saif attending it. SRK will also greet fans who gather outside Mannat, his house in Mumbai, each year on his birthday. "He usually ends up cutting at least two dozen cakes because he finds it hard to turn away any of his well-wishers," said a source.

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
