Shah Rukh Khan Is On A High

Shah Rukh Khan was on seventh heaven as his team, Kolkata Knight Riders, won the Qualifier 1 match at the Eden Gardens.

Shah Rukh Khan's Kolkata Knight Riders steamrolled Preity Zinta's Kings XI Punjab in the Qualifier 1 match of the seventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) to enter the finals.

Leading from the front, team owner Shah Rukh Khan went for the victory lap with the knights, as fans went wild with slogans of "Shah Rukh Khan, Shah Rukh Khan".

The teammates hugged each other and thumped skipper Gautam Gambhir while a few fans spilled onto the ground.

Numbering in tens of thousands, they roared the anthem of Kolkata Knight Riders - Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo Re as Shah Rukh Khan waved to them, and threw kisses. Dressed in a white and purple t-shirt and blue denims, the superstar looked exuberant after the powerful performance of his team.

Gautam Gambhir admitted he would have loved to chase a total against Punjab but when KingsXI Punjab skipper George Bailey inserted Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first, he was up for it. "We knew we had plenty of good batsmen in our ranks who can post a decent total. In the end, the batsmen did perform their responsibilities brilliantly," said Gambhir.

"I wasn't thinking too much about my comeback to the Indian team. I was focused on this match because it was a very important game for us and a lot was at stake. It is very important for a sportsman to stay in the present." Gautam Gambhir said after the win against Kings XI Punjab.

Shah Rukh Khan later told reporters: "I am grateful to Kolkata for its support and we will party after we win the IPL this year. The team has been playing fantastically."

Here's wishing Shah Rukh Khan and Kolkata Knight Riders all the best for the finale.

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
