Lara plays gaon ki gori!

Shooting for Billo Barber was an extremely unique experience for Lara Dutta. The movie has been shot in Pollachi, a small town in Tamil Nadu where stars did not get good accommodation and had to stay in a typical South Indian house. And amidst all this, Lara enjoyed the privilege of being taken special care of by King Khan himself.

She says, "The only accommodation we could get was a highway lodge. After spending three nights without sleep, Shah Rukh and his production personally went and found someone's house to stay."

Though she is not paired opposite SRK, she bonded well with him on the set of Billo Barber. "This is the 1st time Shah Rukh and I have worked together. He is fantastic as a producer and as an actor. I was thoroughly pampered and entertained and the team spent time playing dumb charades."

Apparently Pollachi is a small town and due to lack of transport facilities Lara traveled by tractors. Speaking about her experience she said, "I have walked barefoot for 15 days to get into my character. I have drawn water from a well and for the first time cooked on a choolah. I have also fed goats and cows. This is the 1st time I have done these sorts of things and the experience was thrilling and fun."

Lara last played a gaon ki chori in Apurva Lakhia's Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film was a disaster at the box office, but with Billo Barber and SRK at the helm of affairs, we are sure that this film's publicity will be in good hands.

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
