Thousands of Shah Rukh Khan fans thronged the Kaloor International Stadium to get a glimpse of their favourite Bollywood star who came to inaugurate a textile showroom in the city.
More than 300 security personnel were deployed at the venue to manage the crowd. State ministers, including Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, C N Balakrishnan and A P Anil Kumar, and Kochi mayor Tony Chammany were present at the function.

The branches of a tree broke when eager fans climbed on to it to have a closer look at the star.
No injuries were reported. Plastic chairs were thrown up in air in revelry when Khan entered the stage. Some children were spotted wearing SRK paper masks while others imitated his hair style.
SRK expressed his love for the city by singing "Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam."
He also took the opportunity to promote his upcoming movie Don2 by delivering a dialogue from the movie: "Don ko pakarna mushkil he nahi namumkin hai!"
