'My perception about love hasn’t changed'

Shah Rukh Khan says his perception about love has not changed over the years. "A relationship is between two people and it is a very personal experience. When you are in love, you have to be yourself. My perception of love has not changed over the years," said Shah Rukh. "I feel we lose out on love when we start looking at bigger things. I think in love, simple things matter, like listening. I think girls know better how to love than men," he said. He claimed he is also in love with the whole idea of on-screen romance. "I fall in love with the story idea and the belief of love in it. I like the whole idea of the love story. I believe in every scene that I do. I think I can understand and emote love," he said. According to him, there is no other place he could think of being, other than Bollywood. "I am happy to be here. The actor has sent an application to the Trade Mark Registry that his often-used initials not be used without his permission Shah Rukh Khan  is a brand by himself. And very soon his often-used initials - SRK may become a very valuable property. TOI found out that the actor has recently applied for a trademark on his name SRK at the Delhi office of the Trade Mark Registry. However, he has not received a final confirmation on it yet. According to the rules, once his trademark SRK is published in the Indian Trademark Journal, anybody who has an objection can file a notice within three months. Interestingly,  Sachin Tendulkar  had applied for the same, to trademark his name SRT, earlier this year. In fact, we had told you how when  Vidhu Vinod Chopra  needed to use the cricketer's name in his film Ferrarri Ki Sawaari, he had to seek Sachin's permission. In the West, getting a trademark on one's name isn't uncommon. In fact,  Roger Federer , Michael Jordon and  J...

Says a source from the film's set, "Adi (Aditya Chopra), who is an assistant director on the film, along with the other ADs, came up with the idea of making the last shot magnificent. To make it stand out, they've decided to use multiple cameras and shoot from various angles, giving it a multi-dimensional feel. Yashji is a living legend, and obviously, his last shot has to be a huge moment." Katrina, who is in Chicago, USA, isn't aware of the development yet, but she says whatever the plans are, she is lucky and privileged...

Shah Rukh buys out all books on cinema

Shah Rukh Khan is a man on a mission. The actor has been on a book-buying spree across the length and breadth of the city, scouring bookstores in his pursuit of the titles of his choice. Few people are aware that the actor is a voracious reader and consumes books on a daily basis. Khan is one of the few genuine B-Town bookworms, who buy books to read rather than for its collector value. He has a massive collection of books in his personal library, which he is now in the process of refurbishing along with the one in his office. One guesses the B-Town badshah felt he needed ' thoda aur' a nd that's what sparked off his book-buying marathon.Sources say that SRK walked into a store in Khar the other day with three people as part of his entourage and walked out with every single book on Hollywood and Bollywood cinema, and on movie stars that it had in stock. On one of those visits, he reportedly spent a hefty amount on his purchases. At t...

SRK takes Yash Raj to Ladakh

TOI told you in May that Yash Chopra was toying with the idea of revisiting one of his favourite destinations, the Kashmir valley, as a backdrop for his directorial next starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.  The last time the snow-dusted valley featured in Chopra's films was in the 1976 blockbuster Kabhie Kabhie, after which the filmmaker, known for his choice of the most beautiful locales, had shifted his attention to the Swiss Alps for the longest time. So much so, the production house even conducted a recce of Kashmir, raising anticipation levels there.  However, TOI now has it that the climax of Yash Chopra's yet-untitled film will be shot in Ladakh and not Kashmir, only because Shah Rukh suggested the venue.  A source close to the film had said, "Yashji loves the snow in Kashmir and has shot two of his most romantic films, Daag and Kabhi Kabhie, there. They need a snow-capped landscape for the climax. Hence, initially, he contemplated shooting in Kash...

Even Big B envies SRK's energy and speed

It was on this day exactly twenty years ago that he entered the cinema industry. However, the path hasn't been a rosy one for the man who's now referred to as the Badhshah of Bollywood. Nine years ago Shah Rukh Khan had said in an interview "June 26 marks exactly 11 years since I faced the cameras for my first shot for  Dil Aashna Hai . I knew it would be a tough field, a very demanding profession." Although the star admitted on Twitter that luck has played a major role in making him a superstar, the actor has never once slowed down or shown a sign of complacence. The day he has free time, he starts off with connecting to his fans on Twitter. This is one ritual his fans look forward to. Once online, he tweets, "off to shooting now. ok will do 10 questions...nothing better than to start the day by being questioned...yes we all have our quirks!!" The best part about the actor is that he doesn't shy away from answering any kind of questions ...
