Seems like with every passing day, Shah Rukh and Salman are inching a bit closer in an attempt to mend their broken friendship in the New Year.

Gauri Khan attended Sohail Khan's birthday bash last week and was even seen chatting with Salman. At an event in honour of the Mumbai Police, 'Umang' Shah Rukh took a rare step too. He met up Salman's blue eyed girl Sonakshi Sinha and encouraged the youngster by appreciating her work in Dabangg.

Everyone had an impression that Shah Rukh would give Sonakshi a cold shoulder since she was launched by Salman and has been his loyal friend since then.

"Shah Rukh showed no resentment towards Sonakshi because she belongs to Salman's camp. He was extremely sweet with her. His gesture impressed everyone around" revealed an onlooker present at the event.

It must be recalled that Salman too had appreciated Shah Rukh for launching Deepika Padukone in Om Shanti Om. He had said in a tv interview, "If a new actress succeeds, her entire family gets settled and its always good to give new talent a chance. Shah Rukh worked with Deepika in OSO and more established actors should follow suit."

Seems like the New year might finally mend the differences brewing between the two Khans.

"It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec
