Shahrukh Khan signs ‘Two States’ adaptation

Chetan Bhagat's another celebrated book is going to be made into a film. His recent novel Two States will be adapted for a romantic film to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj with Shahrukh Khan in the main lead.

Yes, you are reading it right. SRK and Vishal together for the first time and guess who is producing it, SRK's friend-turned-foe Salman Khan's good buddy Sajid Nadiadwala. SRK has not been seen in a romantic film after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and his female fans across the world were waiting for news like this.

To adapt Two States was always in the pipeline for Sajid Nadiadwala; earlier it was planned that the movie will have Priyanka Chopra and Saif Ali Khan and will be directed by Siddharth Anand. May be the producer was in two minds as Siddharth's last release Anjaana Anjaani was a dud at the box office.

For those who haven't read the novel: it is about a boy and a girl studying in an elite MBA college. The guy is from Punjab and falls in love with the girl who belongs to Tamil Nadu. Naturally, the two have problems getting married as they belong to two extreme different cultures. It's Chetan's own love story; his wife Anushka is a South Indian.

Sajid has bought the rights for its adaptation. SRK has heard the script and he has 'loved' it. Who will be cast opposite SRK? There will be a new girl.

Shah Rukh Khan More Pics It seems that superstar Shah Rukh Khan has still not come out of his superhero persona. After doing some death-defying stunts for sci-fi thriller " Ra.One", the actor took a 300 feet plunge while shooting for Farhan Akhtar's " Don 2" in Berlin. "Just did an over 300 feet base jump for Don... because you all make me believe I can fly. Time to tell kids about the birds and the bees... ha ha," Shah Rukh wrote on microblogging site Twitter. "My jump was last shot of day. Want to thank my duplicate and action team, to do it before me for wide shots and make me feel confident about it," he added. Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
