Shah Rukh Khan’s Billo Barber will be released in January 2009

The December release of Shah Rukh Khan and Irrfan Khan starrer Billo Barber has been postponed. According to news reports, the movie is now scheduled to be released in January 2009. Already, director Priyadarshan finished the movie way behind schedule as Shah Rukh Khan became busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the middle.

Earlier, the movie was scheduled to be released during Diwali (October 24, 2008). In November and December, several high profile movies are going to hit the theatres including Aditya Chopra's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Karan Johar's Dostana. Then there are Yuvraaj, Golmaal Returns, Chandni Chowk to China, and Ghajini. No doubt, November and December is going to be a big bonanza for Hindi moviegoers.

Though Shah Rukh Khan starred in Billo Barber, he is not the main hero of the movie; it is Irrfan Khan. Secondly, the movie is a remake of hit Malayalam movie, Katha Parayumpol. There are not too many successful remakes these days. In January, only one high profile movie is scheduled to release that is Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Dilli 6. So rescheduling the release is going to be fruitful for Shah Rukh Khan.

Being SRK: The ultimate reality TV show

It's a job most Indians would die for — shadowing Shah Rukh Khan wherever he goes. For the last two months, that's exactly what a TV crew has been doing, following the country's biggest star from South Africa to America to London to Mumbai — all for the making of a unique six-part series on the actor, to be telecast on lifestyle channel Discovery Travel & Living. "It's an inner world-outer world kind of documentary," said Khan, speaking exclusively to HT. "Hopefully, the parts that people will get to see of me — at work and at other places — will shed some light on how films and film stars work and offer an insight into how I do things." Khan said he has got to know the crew quite well ("They have been very unobtrusive"). For Discovery Travel & Living, this series will be one of the biggest global productions to come out of India and will be shown all over the world. "We haven't yet decided when we're going to telec...
