This year will see the clash of a lot of big banner films at the box office. All thanks to the same release dates! It's known that Shah Rukh Khan's Don 2 is going to be a Christmas release but it won't be the only film releasing during the festive season. Abbas Mastan's Players starring Abhishek Bachchan will hit the screen on the same day too.
Farhan Akhtar's Don 2, a sequel of Don is an action film, and the multi star cast Players too belongs to the action thriller genre. According to trade pundits, Don 2 already has a great buzz in the market and with the prequel being a super hit, the chances of Don 2 becoming a hit are positive. In such a case, whichever film shares the same release date may have to suffer poor collections.
Don 2 stars biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles while Players has Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Bipasha and Neil Nitin Mukesh, all of whom desperately need a hit to lift their career graph. We wonder if releasing Players along side Don 2 will be a smart decision.
